Our World Travelers are Back!
After 21 months and 50 countries our world travelers have returned home! After traversing North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia, Danny and Jillian Tobias returned to the United States and have recently settled in South Florida. Their travels may be done, but the adventure continues as Danny has accepted our offer to join Tobias Financial Advisors. He has already made an impact in the office, and hopefully you find the following about his background and achievements interesting.
Although you may know him best as a world traveler, Danny is well suited for a position in the financial planning industry. A magna cum laude graduate of George Washington University, Danny holds a B.S. in Economics in addition to a B.A. in International Affairs. Prior to his travels, Danny worked for IBM performing financial analysis and business operations management. As a senior business consultant for IBM, Danny provided economic, financial, and operational analysis for federal and state government entities. While at IBM, Danny co-authored a paper on the impact of uniform pricing for the United States Postal Service which was presented at an international industry conference. Prior to his time with IBM, Danny worked in the Risk Analysis Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a financial analyst, providing quantitative analysis of banking practices, the derivative market, and economic conditions.
While traveling, Danny founded DoughHound.com, a web-based budgeting tool designed to track spending habits. Unique in the industry, DoughHound.com does not require a user to provide personal information such as credit card or bank account numbers, a factor that dissuaded the couple from using other online systems as they planned for their trip around the world. After its launch, DoughHound attracted national media attention, including the New York Times and US News and World Report, and to date has successfully attracted users from all over the world. Danny has appeared in print and online publications as a media source for budgeting and personal financial planning and has personal insight into what it actually takes to set and achieve a financial goal.
